MISSON

The African American Student Alliance (AASA) was founded in the interest of creating a multicultural college environment from the African Diaspora perspective. AASA accomplishes this by fostering self- understanding and pride amongst people of African ancestry and individuals interested in the African culture and heritage with substantive and ongoing evidence of educational and social programming which promote diversity, enhance literacy and understanding between cultural entities.

VISION

AASA’s theme for the 2013-2014 school year is “Come Together.”  What better way to embrace this theme then to change our usual “Week of Welcome” into “Week of Unity”.  Our vision is to unify the KSU community through programming, community service, and outreach.  Meaning we will embark in a lot more collaboration with other organizations and departments within Kennesaw State University.  We want to focus on not only AASA members but also those in the community who do and/or do not incorporate themselves with on-campus organizations.  AASA will be focusing on unity and togetherness throughout the 2013-2014 school year.
